904L, 316L or other?

    Excuse me if this has been asked a thousand times before but cannot find anything about:
    what kind of steel are the PP steel cases (e. g. Aquanaut, Nautilus, etc.) made of? Is it 904L, 316L or other?
    Thanks a lot for any input! (German replies are welcome too of course.)

    Patek benutzt 316l. Der Unterschied zwischen 904l und 316l ist lediglich, dass 904l ist säurebeständiger und widerstandsfähiger in Salzwasser. 904l wird nachgesagt, dass es härter als 316l sei, das finde ich bis jetzt nirgendwo wirklich bestätigt. Was noch zutrifft, ist, dass 940l kostspieliger und aufwändiger zu bearbeiten ist. :gut:

    Patek uses 316L, Rolex 904. The main difference between 316 and 904 is the latter is more resistant to strong acids and cryogenic temperatures. 904 contents more nickel, so it can be more hazardous for people with allergic reactions.
    904L is said to be more difficult to work with and it is more expensive.
