Pre-owned or new one?

    Dear luxury watch afiscionados
    This is my first forum contribution; I am a greenhorne and wanted to ask you for help. There is 8 years old Patek Philippe Aquanaut for 14,000 EUR. The list price would be 16700 CHF. I do not feel it would be a good idea to buy the pre-owned one although in very good condition.
    I mean, there is not much price difference between the new one and the pre-owned when adjusting for the age of the old watch. Moreover, what do you think how much has the 8 years old PP has cost 8 years ago when it was new?
    What are your thoughts?
